This is Us & Our Daughters singing song “Remeber When.” I recently heard of the group on the 21.10.11 RELEVANT Magazine Podcast. They have such a great story and after hearing their heart in the interview RELEVANT did with them I pictured them to look differently then they actually do.
The group is a couple who after having their first two daughters who are 13 months apart, Lia fell into a pretty rough depression and the couple had to really fight to keep their marriage together.
Lia and Phillip went on to explain that many people today just go along with the “break up” song and don’t really fight for their love. That they allow themselves to “follow their hearts,” and that that really tends to be what that person is feeling at that moment. Lia explained that the love really is “sweeter,” once you have fought for it, because it’s something you come to realize you both really want.
The couple has written a whole bunch of songs that have to do with love and “staying together,” because they feel that that is where they are at now. They said it was kinda funny to sell their songs, because they are personal to them, they’re the stories of their lives.
I like their sound, something soft to listen to and just relax or reflect on. Good to share with some friends that might be going through a difficult time. Definitely encouraging to couples that are just starting and recognize that it is “till death do us part.”

Audrey Hepburn - “Moon River”
Moon River, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you’re going I’m going your way
Two drifters off to see the world
There’s such a lot of world to see
We’re after the same rainbow’s end—
Waitin’ ‘round the bend
My Huckleberry friend
Moon River and me

Mae - “Bloom”
Yeah when I’ve lost my way I walked around it
When I’ve found my faith I still may doubt it
Yeah this midnight air is cold and barren
But the bloom of hope it keeps repairing
I’ll search for you and find you
These questions are just answers on the other side of clarity
I’ll reach for you and know you
I swear this time I’ll pour myself out for you until there’s nothing left
Yeah we lost our way but found it
Yeah we will live to see it out
Oh hearts may break to make more room
Yeah but love will find a way to bloom
Love will find a way to bloom
Mae’s incredible show on Saturday opened with this song. I’ve had this stuck in my head for days and it’s awesome.
The story behind “How He Loves”
He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane
I am a tree
Bending beneath
The weight of his wind and mercy
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these
Afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize how beautiful you are
And how great your afflictions for meOh how he loves us so
Oh how he loves us
How he loves us soYea He loves us
Oh howWe are his portion
And he is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in his eyes
If grace is an ocean we’re all sinking
So heaven meats earth like a sloppy wet kiss
And my heart burns violently inside of my chest
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way
He loves usOh how he loves us
Oh how he loves us
How he loves us
