Seaside Born

I'm just a girl who wants to follow Christ the best she can. I also fall under the categories of artist, film maker, coastie, music enthusiast, explorer of many things. And always in need for a cup o' brown joy.

I’ve been painting a lot lately! Here’s something in progress for an art submission on Sunday.

Ridiculous.

The eclipse viewing throughout the world:

Viewers in Greenland, Iceland and western Europe will be able to see the beginning stages of the eclipse before moonset.

In western Asia, the later stages of the eclipse will be visible after moonrise.

All of the eclipse will be visible throughout Mexico and Central America and northwest South America.

Viewers in Peru, Chile and Bolivia will see most of the eclipse, but the moon will set before the end of the Penumbral phase.

Viewers in Brazil will see the moon set during totality.

Parts of Africa in the northwest will also see the moon set while it is eclipsed.

All but the westernmost tip of Australia will see an eclipsed moon as it rises.

Unfortunately most of Africa, the middle East and India will not have a view of this event.

Source: NASA.

Good luck trying to view the eclipse, rainy California! Luckily NASA has us covered— A live video feed of the lunar eclipse will be embedded on this page on the evening of Dec. 20 by approximately 6 p.m. EST. The camera is mounted at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

Leaf Carving Art

The process of carving is performed by artists using tools to carefully remove the surface without cutting or removing the veins. The veins add detail into the subject matter of the carving. The material or most common leaf used in leaf carving is the leaf of a Chinar tree. The Chinar tree is native to India, Pakistan and China. Chinar leaves have a close resemblance to maple leaves.
