600th post, whoohoo!
Until yesterday, what I knew of Dave Gorum was that he was a funny guy who does something in Web design and is into making jokes about fantastical and real-life creatures, and who seems to, somehow, simultaneously live in both New York and Chicago.
We became Facebook friends yesterday and I found out that his “something in Web design” is, with two other dudes and a group of other fine fellows and dames, a company called Carbonmade. Pardon me if I’m behind the boat on this one and everyone and their cat is already using it. I see in my dashboard that it’s been mentioned here and there, but I missed those mentions.
Carbonmade is an online portfolio for your personal and career creations, all packaged in a slick, neat-tacular Web site. It’s really geared towards artists and graphic designers and Web folks, but as a copywriter/creative director-type without major technical skills, I’m still finding ways to use it. We all have a portfolio that can be developed, and Carbonmade is the spot for it on the Internets.
I just began my portfolio and have a ways to go, but you should check it out. Link is in the headline. Easy to use, fun and colorful to look at…overall a jolly-good piece of Web work by our friend and his friends that has some real potential for continued excellency.
Looking forward to using this!
